Teddy Bear's Picnic

We had a fantastic time at our Teddy Bear's Picnic today! During the week we baked and decorated biscuits and then made our own sandwiches. We enjoyed sharing all the food with our teddies!

Sport's Day

We had a fantastic time during One World Week! We had so many visitors who taught us about places all round the world including: Italy, Sri Lanka, Portugal, France, Austria, Gibraltar, India, Egypt, Peru etc. We learnt new facts, asked interesting questions, listened to stories and sang songs in other languages, looked at photographs, made crafts and even got to sample some local cuisine!

We had a great time on our trip to the Watercress Beds

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

We received a very tiny letter on our first day back from the Easter holidays. It was from the Very Hungry Caterpillar who said that he was sending us some of his friends. Sure enough, a few days later some caterpillars arrived in our classroom! We can't wait to see them grow and change into butterflies!

We enjoyed telling our innovated versions of Jack and the Beanstalk to our friends in Year 6!

Thank you for coming to our Easter bonnet parade!

We had a great time during Wellbeing Week. On Monday we visited each of the Infant classes and took part in different mindfulness activities such as yoga, weaving and making squishies. Mrs Latham came to visit us on Tuesday and taught us some Scottish dancing and then on Wednesday we made our own healthy fruit kebabs. Finally, on Thursday we had a visit from Charlotte from Relax Kids who taught us some breathing techniques. We particularly enjoyed giving each other a shoulder rub and saying positive things about ourselves!

Jack and the Beanstalk

This half term we have been learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We used it as inspiration for our other areas of learning too by painting magic beans, measuring using the giant's footprints, exploring the signs of Spring outside and even planting our own beans! We have also really enjoyed creating our own versions of the story which you can find in our learning journals!

Fun in the snow

We had a great time playing in the snow and building a snowman today! When we finished, we went inside to get warm with a cup of hot chocolate and a biscuit - lovely!
What a week it has been! On Monday we had a visit from PCSOs Lauren and Mark who told us all about being police officers and even let us get inside their police van! On Tuesday, Mrs Bennett us about making school lunches and on Wednesday Robin explained how he looks after the school - we were especially excited to see the keys he uses to lock up the school. On Thursday Dr Wes told us all about being a doctor and Bob the paramedic also visited with his bag of things to help us in an emergency. On Friday we had our last visitor for the week, Nye's Mum, who explained how doctors help poorly people and showed us some of the different things they use. Thank you so much to all our visitors this week - we have loved it and learnt a lot! However, the fun is not yet over as next week we are hoping to have a visit from the fire service so watch this space!
We are really enjoying learning about the Gingerbread Man. Everyday we tell the story with actions and we are starting to learn it off by heart! We have had lots of fun playing in Gingerbread Man themed activities and doing lots of problem solving tasks and investigations such as 'what would have happened if the Gingerbread Man had dropped into the water?' and making boats and bridges to help him escape.

What a mystery!

We came into Nursery on the first day of term to discover that Mrs Milton's Gingerbread Man was missing! There was a trail of flour and footprints which led us to some animals who gave us clues. The clues led us to the river where we found a map of the story of what happened to the Gingerbread Man.

We had a great time in the build up to Christmas!

We were so proud of all the children for their fantastic performance in the Christmas Nativity today!

We had great fun being pirates this week! We made treasure maps and searched for treasure around the nursery environment. On our ship, we sailed the seven seas (joined of course by Princess Elsa who joins us every week in Nursery without fail!). We even used the iPads to scan QR codes hidden around the nursery to discover pirate videos and games.

Road Safety Week

This week was also Road Safety Week. We talked about how to 'Be Bright, Be Seen' and Rosie, who helps us cross the road, came in to see us and explain how to stay safe. We really liked her mini coat and lollypop!

Nursery Rhyme Week

We learnt lots of different nursery rhymes this week and enjoyed all our nursery rhyme-themed activities. We baked biscuits and had a playdough bakery (Pat a Cake), played in our doctor surgery (Doctor Foster and Polly had a dolly), got slimey with the 5 little speckled frogs and put Incy Wincy Spider down the drain pipes.

Remembrance Day

Magical Tea Party

We had great fun at our Magical Tea Party and doing our learning activities in Nursery during our 'All Things Magical' week.
We have really enjoyed learning about dinosaurs this week! We pretended to be palaeontologists and looked carefully in the sand for bones and loved trying to crack open the dinosaur eggs made from ice. Our Physi Gym song this week was Dino Stomp from Go Noodle - I wonder if anyone has been singing it at home? We have another week learning about dinosaurs next week, we can't wait!

We are having a lot of fun in our new Nursery class!

Welcome back to the Summer Term!
