St Peter’s School

Helping every child to flourish

Positive, Caring, Inclusive

Whole School Circle Time

During Spring term 2023 St Peter's began their journey of Whole school circle time. The children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 mix up into smaller groups to carry out discussion topics.  These sessions are led by the children in Year 6 and supported by an adult within school.

The format of these sessions is:

  • circle time welcome
  • a mix up game
  • a round
  • a discussion
  • social development game
  • circle time goodbye

These circle time sessions are a fantastic way to allow all children to have a say about things around school and to offer suggestions and thoughts around a number of topics. There is no separate School Council this year.

Adults within these sessions make notes of discussions which are then shared with the Senior Leadership Team when appropriate.

Topics we have discussed since September 2023

 - Looking at different curriculum areas and thinking about the skills and knowledge we have and use in these subjects and how we might transfer these skills in the real world.

- What makes a happy playtime?

- Books children are reading and would recommend to others.

Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal

Non-uniform day – Tuesday 28th February

In response to the tragic situation in Turkey and Syria, we want to offer our support by helping to raise funds for aid to be sent to thousands of families who urgently need help.

On Tuesday 28th February, we will be holding a non-uniform day and in return, if you are able, please donate on the Just Giving page or alternatively bring in a cash donation to school on the day.
